Hello! 01/07/2012
We have a blog! I'm really hoping that this becomes a way for us to connect, share thoughts, stories, ideas, and excitement about quilting. Because I have known so many of you so well and for so long, I know that quilting plays a whole host of roles in your lives (and mine too). It is our abiding interest, a means of self-expression, a form of exploration, a form of challenge, a form of acheivement, a way to express compassion, caring and love, a simple pleasure, a way to connect with others, a form of escape, a way to relax, a way to mark our milestones, a way to personalize our homes......the list can go on and on. And I can't really think of too many other things that cover all those bases. (Cooking and gardening, maybe?) How utterly cool is that???? I'll be posting more as things flit through my head. But I really want to see what flits through your heads too! When you submit a post, it will come to me (hopefully...if I've set this thing up right!) and I'll see that your contribution gets here. So jot down a few thoughts, it doesn't have to be profound, it just has to be us! Stacy CommentsCarol Congdon 01/07/2012 17:35

So talk to us about "Modern" quilting. I am getting the urge to try large open spaces, simple geometrics, fun bright new colors.... What's this new movement all about? Wondering if it would be a good Dare to Bee project.

This is my first time trying a blog. I really admired Carol C's quilt last night and the stitching that she used to quilt it. I know you used a fancy thread which I am not interested in using on this baby quilt I am working on, but I thought the squiggly lines would be fun to try. I am a beginner quilter and can use a tip or two. Can you tell me how you did that? Thanks.

Very nicely done Stacy. Along with everything else you do, I don't know how you manage to keep all the balls in the air. We at Undercover Quilters surely do appreciate all that you do to keep up our interest in quilting.
